Costocervical trunk

The costocervical trunk (Latin: truncus costocervicalis) is a small branch of the subclavian artery that supplies blood to intercostal spaces and muscles in the neck region. It originates from the posterior surface of the subclavian artery, runs posteriorly and splits into the following branches:

The deep cervical artery supplies the deep muscles and spinal cord in the neck region. The superior intercostal artery is a vessel arising from the costocervical trunk that supplies tissue in the first two intercostal spaces.
