About Us

At Anatomy Next we make anatomy simple. With this goal in mind we develop and publish high quality educational tools that both empower professors and enable individual learning anywhere, at any time. With the needs of the student at the forefront our tools are precise, reliable and easy to use, but above all: they are designed to convey the rich complexity of gross anatomy in a simple, intuitive manner.

Founded in 2015, we began our story in the art world. After the successful release of our books Anatomy for Sculptors, Understanding the Human Figure and Anatomy of Facial Expressions which became popular among artists, medical professionals and plastic surgeons, we entered the medical education field. We have since developed new products for medical students and educators, including a platform known as anatomy.net, a free, light-weight, anatomy encyclopedia, which has been appreciated by a million users in 2019 alone.

Whether it’s our printed books or digital software like Anatomy.app or Dental Anatomy 3D - our products reflect our passion for information design. It is principally important to us that all the tools we develop present complex subjects in a clear, understandable way while preserving their depth of information. Committed to this philosophy is a multidisciplinary team of medical professionals, artists, university professors and information designers, who have all come together to create accessible educational tools of exceptional quality.

Testimonials

Andrea Pobocik, DDS. MS and PhD, University of Michigan

We used the application designed by Anatomy Next during our 2020 summer course of Dental Anatomy. Due to the pandemic, traditional in-person class was not possible and 110 students heavily relied on the app for their education. The app worked well both in PCs and Macs and during our whole course we did not see any technical fault, bug or crash. The platform is user friendly, easy to operate and includes 3D images that rotate, show annotations and a color code of the anatomical landmarks that is consistent for all teeth in different windows. The Anatomy Next team was always extremely helpful, welcoming and fast to answer any question. They worked close to our Dental Anatomy group to include and modify information according to specific needs of our curriculum. In summary, our experience with both the app and the company was awesome and will certainly be repeated in the future.

Visual Guide to Dental Anatomy of the Permanent Dentition was developed in collaboration with the faculty from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry and AnatomyNext Inc. 3D graphics and texture of the models are accurate, dental anatomy is presented in detail with color codes and user interface is easy with intuitive manipulation features. The visual guide was developed with the dental student in mind and is ideal for dental anatomy courses given during the first year of the dental curriculum. The visual guide is a good resource for online education and for self paced study. The students used and benefited from this application during the dental anatomy course. I recommend the visual guide to dental anatomy as an additional resource for faculty as well as students.
